I just partitions my harddrive and installed Windows XP on a second primary partition and have Windows 2000 on the pre existing partition. I will be installing bootmagic to dual boot but need help on configuring my system so that both O/S's will use the same software. Preferably what is already installed if that is possible, or do I have to independantly install the software twice.

The latter. W2K/XP software requires a complex set of registry settings, DLL's, tweaks etc. which is C: disk-dependent.
However if you would use a THIRD partition you could do a partial share.
First install the app (e.g. Office XP) as a _network server_ install to that 3rd partition.
Then, from that server install, run a _client_ install (twice) to both the C: of XP and the C: of 2K. That copies solely the local DLL's and registry settings, maybe 5% of the total Office. The rest is run fromthe network partition (e.g. ). Still this way you save a lot of space...

You may want to install the applications seperately in each operatin system, this will be easier to access and very little problems in setting up.
