passing credentials in IE with XP SP2

in our healthcare environment we have the need to embedded name and password into IE links to access other system resources. With XP SP1 everything worked – when we started our testing with SP2 we noticed they no longer work – double /triple checked the shortcuts they look fine and still work with SP 1 – they are delivered to the desktop via Novell ZENworks so I’m sure the objects are the same. I believe that the removal of this feature was done by MS as a security enhancement but none the less it is necessary in our environment. Does anyone have a work around ??

    need activeX for displaying cardio graphs and have also tried MS client only – not a Novell issue – any other ideas ??
