in our healthcare environment we have the need to embedded name and password into IE links to access other system resources. With XP SP1 everything worked – when we started our testing with SP2 we noticed they no longer work – double /triple checked the shortcuts they look fine and still work with SP 1 – they are delivered to the desktop via Novell ZENworks so I’m sure the objects are the same. I believe that the removal of this feature was done by MS as a security enhancement but none the less it is necessary in our environment. Does anyone have a work around ??
