PASSWORD

neeed help loggin onto windox xp professional
i need to bypass the login i knew the admin password but changed it
now it says domain does not exist anyone know what i can do???

Get yourself a copy of Knoppix and boot off the CD once you have the system running go into the Admin area and delete any passwords just set them to a blank space and then reboot the computer and remove the copy of Knoppix and you should be OK from ythere as far as the passwords go. The Domain Account will be different but as this is a NB it's most likely mobile so it should still work as it should be configred to run while not connected to the Domain.

Unplug the network cable. This will force the PC to use a cached logon. It may only respond to the old password, but at least you can log in and create a new (local administrator) user in local users and computers under the computer manager.

um, you do not have a choice to login locally? no pulldown where the domain name is with another choice there?

I know this is an old post but... In the event that someone else might find this usefull.

OphCrack From SourceForge. It's a live CD that'll crack the password w/o deleting or modifying the system.
