password bypassing on network

By patrick2565 ·
i bought a cheep computer for 20.00 it has windows 2000 nt . the problem is that when i got it at the pawn shop as is i didnt expect i had to log on to get though to the desktop. when i first booted the computer on it bypassed the name and password and went right on the desktop, i wanted to put a game on the comp and realized that it had to reboot to compleat the process. never the less when it came back on it went right to the name and password of the previous owner, i was wondering if there is any software i can get to bypass the login or change the password, ive got to admit im stumped. also i was offered by a comp dealer that for about 90.00 he could do it but i wanted to get the software my self if possible . can you help lead me in the right direction? thanks

If you haven't already done so, try getting into the Administrator account using the more obvious password - a blank password, "secret", "password", "admin", etc. Failing that, there are free tools available to decrypt, reset or simply blank the admin password. Try http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm for some. Good luck.
