Password Policy

Hi,

Under Domain controller security policy --- Account Policy --- PW Policy I have the minimum password set up to 5 but users still be able to set up PW less than five character. Did I do something wrong?

you set password policy through Active directory Users and Computers. Rt click your domain and choose properties. Next choose the group policy tab. Expand the users node and expand security. you set the password policy there. Password policy is applied on the domain level therefore the password policy has to be configured on the domain.

To further clarify from the previous answer - the password policy for the computer is local; since a domain controller doesn't have any local accounts by definition, the password policy you've set isn't taking effect. You need to set it under the group policy for the domain as described by the previous answer rather than on the computer level. Hope this helps!
