Password Protect Internet Connection

By Jeremy The IT Guy ·
Is there a way to make it where users have to insert a password to use the internet via Internet Explorer? If not, do you know any other browser or app that has that type of functionality? Thanks, Jeremy

I don't know any application that can do that, but there is an application - WinGuard Pro - that allows you to asign passwords when you try to access a specific program. And as I saw, it really works.

Unfortunately, I don't use a proxy so this wouldn't help. Thanks, Jeremy

In AD you can control access to the internet. I assume you are using W2K with Ad installed?

I do use Windows 2000 with AD but I think that the Group Policy only allows an allow/deny setup where as I want to password protect it so if Internet Explorer is ever launched, the user will have to input a password before continuing. Thanks, Jeremy

What are you trying to control? Certain pc's from accessing the internet or certain users?

Certain users. I have a shared computer and I want to make it where a password is needed for that user to use Internet Explorer.
