password protected

i need to remove the password protected feature in windows xp's screen saver. the box in the screen saver tab in the display setting is not checked. is there another place in windows xp pro where the password protected feature in the screen saver can be disabled?

If its not checked, its probably applied through group policy.

humm sounds like mischief to me. if you need to remove it and the box is not checked and you had to ask how, then your not familiar with applying Windows network policy and security.

Are you sure that it is a screen saver setting, and not power management? It will ask for a user/password if the system goes into standby, sleep, or hibernate modes. Turn off these settings and see if this is your problem.
