Password Protected Hard Drive

By rlfilter ·
I've seen similar posts, but having trouble finding an answer.

Had a password for my XP admin. profile and protected my files from being viewed by other users.

My motherboard went down.

Rebuilt a new system, but can't boot from HD (because the mobo & chip are too dis-similar from the old machine).

Folders are viewable when HD is put into my back up machine, but access is denied to some (because of the password). What's the easiest way to access/copy the data??

Please help!

thanks. saw this in another post, but it looked like it was only for same machine access issues. Able to copy files and about to start a complete system install.
