Install a third party tool to password protect folders. Windows uses NTFS/Share permissions to secure folders.

right click on folders, select sharing, select "share" radio button, click "Permissions" button, change permissions accordingly. if you'd like to give acess to just a certain group of people i'd suggest setting up a generic user like "share" on your computer and denying login access at the computer but give them read access to your shared folder.

to add a user, start > settings > control panel ... administrative tools ... computer management... users and groups ... users ... right click, new user. (this is all from memory, correct me if i'm wrong)
