Password Protecting Folders in Win 98

By hasib580 ·
If you could help me with some information on password protecting a drive, other than C , a folder and a sub-folder in any drive. I am using both Windows 98 & Windows Me in my PC and Note Book respectively.

Thanks and waiting to hear soon.Hasib.

Hi,

I assume you are not on a network.
You need a 3th party software, this can not be accomplished by win98 or windows me.
checkout WinAbility.Com or search on the download section of cnet, there are many other programs that allows you to lockyour computer from start and prevent installation of programs etc.

Another option is to upgrade to w2k, in w2k this is built in the os.

regards,

Leopold

well if you don't share the folder, it not an issue. but if you're talking about local access you should upgrade os to nt or 2k.
