password removal

i have a dell Latitude CPi266 which i purchased on ebay and the seller will not help that has a dos password which i am unable to remove have tried re format /new hard drive /disconnect battery without success can anyone help

I assume you mean a BIOS Password, which you can clear by clearing the CMOS memory. Check out:

In addition to removing the battery, you need to change the position of the jumper--in some, there are 3 pins so you can just move it over, in others, you have to move it to another 2 pin jumper. Either way, move the jumper, pop the battery, start it up, turn it off, return the jumper to it's original location and restart.

What you have to do is to remove the motherboard from the computer and jumper the password chip while pressing the power button on. You better off buying a new motherboard there cheap. I even have some for sale if you need one. You can also buy a whole computer like this for about 25.00 total.
