Passwords Plus

I am a brand new user/member of Tech Republic, upon recommendation from our IT department, but I am disappointed that I’ve already had a problem. I tried to download Passwords Plus, and now I cannot close the file or even shut down my computer properly. What has caused this problem and what can I do?
