I’ve just come back from a motoring tour of Italy. Because I had the car, I was able to bring back loads of stuff including around 25Kg of good spaghetti. That’s over 50 pounds to the metrically challenged. It was CHEAP, OK?
I’m after some less obvious and, preferably, quick recipes so I can use this up before its expiry date of March 2012.
Thumbs will be awarded for the ones that I reckon worthy. Scorn will be liberally awarded for anything that includes even a suggestion of melting American Cheese onto it.
I also have Tuscan olive oil, a couple of Kilos of 24 month old Parmigiano Reggiano, around a Kilo of Parma Ham and a half dozen strings of dried peperoncini. That lot won’t last long, however, as some of my friends have already invited themselves round to supper. Feel free to include them, however.
Tonight, I will be eating spaghetti ai funghi with Porcini mushrooms and cream.
Neil 🙂
I also brought back a bag of lemons – bought in Naples – but a check on the bag showed “Produce of South Africa”. They sell Italian lemons in Croyon Sainsbury’s and South African lemons in Naples. Gah!
