PC Assumes Identity of 2nd PC on Network

by tscislaw . Updated 25 years, 5 months ago

I’ve got a Win95 client that has assumed the identity of another PC on the network: IP address, computer name, etc.

We are using static IP addresses not DHCP.

I’m seeing double listing of the NIC in Network Configuration. I’ve tried deleting one but after a reboot it reappears.

I finally removed TCP/IP and reinstalled it and that cleared everything up.

Anybody know why this may have happened in the first place?

Tony
