    PC based home security kits

    Locked

    by hop228a ·

I’ve heard about these kits, and wonder if someone can recommend or link me to a site that sells these.Ideally mainly using for night times.

Tried google, but the sites that are listed doesn’t show them as a kit instead as individual and for someone like me who doesn’t know much on these, not that easy to know which is compatable to each other.

    Thanks for your help.

Try a local security service in the phone book and ask around. I’ve installed many but they are all custom and as simple as can be. It all depends on what you want to monitor and how many inputs are required. That means how many doors and windows, access points, and what type of sensors, analog or digital. Most are run on just a 8 bit processor but the elaborate systems can also control lighting, heating and air conditioning, even home appliances such as stereo and big screen TVs. The number of options are huge, but simple is always best. your local elecronics store should carry what you need for hardware, but PC based systems can run into the thousands. Commerical systems are very elaborate and can be up to 6 digits in cost. The local Radio Shack even has Do-it-yourself books.
