PC Card Driver

I recently reinstalled windows 2000 OS on my dell laptop and my compaq laptop. The driver for the linksys PCM100 10/100 fast ethernet card was accepted by the dell and not the compaq. I have no internet connection for my compaq because windows can not find it.
Can anyone help?
