If you have an extra network card, you could use Internet Connection Sharing in Windows to assign an IP address to your Mac or Airport without having to buy any new equipment, but your Mac would only have Internet access when your PC is running. For about $40 you can get a good 4 port router that will dynamically assign IP addresses to both your PC and Mac.

just connect your dsl router to a workgroup switch, if you don't have an extra port on your dsl router. you can plug both PC's and Mac's via their ethernet ports. see www.linksys.com for how-to.

Or another alternative is to run use both the RJ45 & USB sockets one to each computer that will work and be a cheap way out but will not give you a network as such but both will have an Internet connection.

You need a router with a 4 port switch. You can get one for without wireless for $50. One with wireless $60.

Both computers will plug in to the router. The router will act as a dhcp server and assign addresses.

Give us the os on each machine and we can give you the step by step.
