I’ve been considering moving from my PC to a MAC for some time now (because Vista isnt an option) and wanted to go ahead and put together a pros/cons list of MAC with the tech republic community. BTW i know this horse has been beaten into a fine mist, but i wanna pot my pov anyway.
PROS:
less malware
better hardware
smooth interface
better cmd tools
faster for harware
unix!
good community support
can run bootcamp
looks hawt!
CONS:
Less software
small hardware list
mem hungry interface
less GUI tools
more money
not windows UI
bad mfg support
must run bootcamp…
uhm who cares about looks?
Im also thinking i want to be able to teach my kid(wife’s preggers woot!) both, and by the time hes old enough to learn both it’ll be old enough that he can mess it up and i wont care. But in the end is it just a prettier more expensive box to do the same thing i am already doing on XP. but again this is for when xp finally dies off as MS is trying so hard to make happen. Thats all i can think of ATM but i know tech rep. will give me a more complete list.
