PC randomly won’t Power on Self Test (POST)

Strange one for you guys.

I built my pc about 8 months ago and everything has been ok up until 2 weeks ago. I started getting screen lockups and the only way to recover was to hard restart. This went on for about a week until the machine sometimes failed to boot. And by not booting I mean it would not Power on self test (POST). All the fans were spinning and lights were on the mobo and the front of the box but it wouldn’t beep. I would try the reset button a few times and would eventually POST and boot up.

This weekend the screen locked and I have been unable to start it up again, it will not POST. I have tried stripping it back to MOBO, Graphics card, memory, cpu and hard drive. Still no POST.

I have swapped out the RAM that I know is ok and that doesn’t work. I have swapped out the hard drive and that doesn’t work either. I am unable to swap out anything else as I don’t have access to any other parts.

Can anyone suggest a reason why it sometimes wouldn’t POST? If a piece of hardware had failed then surely I wouldn’t have been able to boot anytime and not randomly like I have been.

I would be grateful for the help.
