PC reboots with patch cable plugged in, but ok if unplugged

by andre . Updated 17 years, 3 months ago

Hi there..

I am seeing a rather weird scenario with a PC on my network at work.

If I boot the system with the network cable attached, it does a reboot at the “Applying Computer Settings” screen, and will go into a reboot loop at this point.

However, if I unplug the network cable, I am able to get to the login screen, at which point I can plug the cable in, and all works great until the next reboot.

I tried searching google, but have not really seen anything out there that shares these symptoms. There is nothing in the event logs, and the system is not throwing up a BSOD, just rebooting.

Any ideas??

Thanks,
Andre
