i was looking for utilities that i can run from my PC over a link to a troubled one, without installing the software on the it. also i was wanting to make a repair disk with utilities for Xp.

Why mess around making your own when there are plenty of prebuilt ones

Is probably one of the best though. I know it's my preferred Weapon of Choice when it comes to Diagnosing a faulty computer. Used in conjunction with one of the Live Linux's you don't really need anything else.

Thats what I was going to say, Ultimate Boot CD is awesome..you can add or delete apps to it. I also use a boottable CD with Damn Small Linux (DSL). DSL is great, and it's only 50MB, give or take if you add some apps to it. You can even boot it on a bootable flash drive.

i will chech this out a little further, but i have some utilities that i like using, so if i make it myself i use what i know, and i have the fun of making it

so i checked out the UBCD web site and DL'd one of them that looked to be wat i was looking four. well it just sucked! it was full of old useless utilities and out dated AV programs, lol, i can do better then that with a lil more work, i know it.
