I'm running Win 2K on my PC. Do you have a list of Mandatory Processes that must by running on my PC as a minimum. I ask this question because I have a slew of processes running that I don't think I need running, which are stealing my computers processors Time, making my PC run very slow. Also, how can I edit permanently what's running on my PC regarding these processes?, so thay don't start up again when I boot my PC again.

Again, thank you for your support with my question.

Rick

This can only be determined by the user as to what is actually being used
click on Start-Settings-Control Panel-Administrative Tools,then Services
In order to change the Startup type of a service enter Prperties,Right-click on the service, select Properties, now select how you want service to load and click Apply
If you donot intend to use Task Scheduler or Fax Service, they use a lot of memory, donot run,by selecting to disable.

Just to add to the previous response. Use Alt + Ctrl +Del to see what's running. Start to turn them off to find out which ones you don't want.
