PC will not connect to internet

we cannot go online, we have changeed the Hub and ethernet cable.Can this be a virus (Hal Turner? or the Lan card? How can we confirm this?

What are you using to actually connect to the Internet?

In the Device Manager what is actually showing and what if anything has Yellow Triangles with a black ! through them?

What has happened here?

Assuming that you are using some kind of external Modem that you connect to with a CAT5 Cable if that was replaced have you run the Setup Process for it and your ISP?

If you have not replaced the Modem have you unplugged it and allowed it to reset itself before reconnecting the power. NB Reset does not mean hitting the Reset Button just allowing it to power down and restart. Quite often Power Spikes can adversely affect the Modems and these need to be powered down and restarted before they will work again.
