I actually have 2 questions in one on this posting:
1.) I am curious to what other IT Support Professionals and Techs do when it comes time to Wipe a computer clean and start from scratch, fresh, anew, however you want to look at it. With all the utilities that are around today, the simple “Format” command seems old-fashioned and an old way of doing things if you will. What Utilities and or methods does everyone use these days? For instance, sticking in a boot disk, issuing a command, and wiping a computer clean. I am interested in both Secure (As much data deletion on the sectors as possible) and Non-Secure methods besides “Format”. Thanks.
2.) I am still in search of software that will help with Application Migration. Something that allows you to take a common set of installed Applications, Bundle them up, and distribute them onto different PCs with different OS’s, such as Windows98, 2000, NT. I know such software exists out there somewhere, and is similar to Ghost. Thank you very much.
