suddenly my PC turned itself off a few nights ago. I started it again and it seemed fine.
Now when I try to start my pc it makes an odd sound that seems to emanate from on the motherboard somewhere. it seems to be almost a clicking sound. when it finally posts it emits a beep about 2 or 3 seconds long and then appears to be running. During the initial startup phase (before the post) my monitor just states “no signal”.
I pulled everything off the board except obviously the Processor and it still does the same thing. I think i have it isolated to either one of the following: Power supply, CPU or MOBO.
Specs are as follows;
DFI Infinity NF4 Ultra 2 AM2 M.board.
AMD 3800+ AM2 CPU.
Corsair RAM CL5400 (2 sticks 512) dual channel.
LiteOn DVD-DL drive.
EVGA 512MB 7950GTO PCI-E video card.
thats mainly it. I may have missed something.
I just wondered if anyone had a similar experience.
oh and i tested the monitor on a diff machine and its fine.
