pcAnYWHERE 8.0 and ISDN connections.
LockedI have a customer who wants to use there T-1 connection in New York to connect thru there ISDN device (WebRamp 410i) with pcANYWHERE 8.0 using TCP/IP to remotely manage the accounting softwhere on one of the host computers in West Palm Beach, FL..
Having used pcAnywhere in the past over my own internal network, it has required a static IP address to make the connection on the host computer, and using what I know about ISDN (which is very little) the circuit dosn’t provide that static IP.
The service provider has informed me that a static IP on that service is not avaliable that I will have to go to SDSL or frame relay to accomplish this.
1. Is this true?
2. Is there an alternitive to this ?
3. Can I use the ISDN circuit to connect directly to the host computer thru direct dial in?
I have installed an internal modem in the host computer in the interim to allow the closing of the books for this month but this can’t be a long term solution it is just to slow for effective or productive work.
If anyone can be of some assistance I would be greatful.
Your’s truly, Charles Hood
