PCAnywhere cant chng connection settings

by sstrickl . Updated 25 years, 4 months ago

I recently deployed PCAnywhere on my NT network. It was successful on all machines but 2. All my desktops are HP’s:VLI*’s and VL400’s.
The VLI8’s are p3 500 and the VL400’s are p3733. Both have 128mb ram and 12gb hd’s.
The install went smoothly and error free on ALL machine’s Setup/connection works on all of the vli8’s and one of the three VL400’s.
The remainig 2 VL400’s will NOT allow you to change the communication protocol or connection settings, stating that “you do not have sufficient privelages to change these settings…” I have logged onto these machines as myself(my profile is an administrative account) and as Administrator/Domain Administrator and Local administrator. I attempted many different ways of adding the admin. to PCAnywhere with full rights, but with no luck. I did something on one of the 400’s and I managed to get it to work, but it took about an hour of tinkering. I’m not sure what changed or what I did to make it accept the changes. I was unable to get the other 2 to allow the changes. I removed and reloaded about 10 times on each of the two machines in a variety of combination. It may be of no consoloation, but the VLI8’s boot part is dos/System part is NTFS while the VL400’s are NTFS on both partitions. This wouldn’t explain why one of those works though…Help!
