I’m trying to configure a pcAnywhere host on a Win95 wstation behind a Proxy 2.0 server. Obviously, I want to connect to it via TCP/IP, say, from a dialup internet connection thru a local ISP. The proxy allows web access from the workstation, browsing the net, etc., so I know the proxy is working. When I run the host mode, I cannot reach the host from a remote pcAnywhere PC. I do NOT want to use the Winsock client included with Proxy 2.0 on the workstation. Rather, I want to know how to manually configure the proxy server’s ports to map directly to the PC (10.10.10.2) behind the proxy (10.10.10.1).
Other pertinent facts:
Server has 2 NICs, one for external IP and second for internal IP.
Proxy’s second NIC address is 10.10.10.1
NT 4.0 running Proxy 2.0, using DHCP
Win95 workstation OSR2.5
Also, I have tried this using Deerfield’s Wingate without its Winsock client by manually mapping ports, and it works flawlessly…so I know there must be a way to make Proxy server work, too.
