PCI bus, IRQ steering

by ric . Updated 24 years, 10 months ago

I have a cyrix 300m2 with 98Mb of mem, running win 98.
the motherboard has sound and graphics on board, but a freind of mine installed a soundblaster card, I tried and found i had conflicts. I also have Installed a voodoo 3 PCI card and a win modem(PCI).

In the device manager, It states that
“IRQ steering is disabled,IRQ table has some errors”.

I frequently have computer crashes and a boatload of other stuff like, games freeze/reset to windows, shut down problems etc. Im not sure if this has anything to do with the IRQ’s, and if not, I’ll work on that lot later.

how would I fix the IRQ table?
IRQ’s:
0- system timer
1- standard keyboard
2- programmable interrupt controller
3- communication port (com2)
4- communication port(com1)
5- creative AWE64 gold
6- standard floppy disc controller
7- printer port (lpt1)
8- system CMOS/real time clock
10- 3dfx voodoo3
10- IRQ Holder for PCI steering
10- SIS 7001 PCI to USB open host controller
11- conexant PCI modem enumerator
11- IRQ holder for PCI steering
12- PS/2 mouse port
13- Numeric data processor
14- primary IDE controller (dual fifo)
14- SIS 5513 Dual PCI IDE controller
15- Secondary IDE controller (dual fifo)
15- SIS 5513 Dual PCI IDE controller.

I noticed that there is no IRQ 9, three things on IRQ 10, and that ther are two ” IRQ holder for PCI steering”….

argghhhh…….help

🙂
thanks for your time reading all this
