PCL XL error

In my network i have a printer, that is only used by one computer.
Since yesterday the user gets printout that are saying this:
PCL XL error
Subsystem: KERNEL
ERROR: UnsupportedProtocol
Operator: 0x0
Position: 0

He didn't print anything when he got the error printouts, and nobody else should be on his printer.

Does anybody know what this could be?

I know i don't have a blot of information but that's all what i know.

Collapse - it an HP?

Seriously, I do like HP Printers. But I have seen this error only on HP printers. Anyway, is the printer driver installed directly on the computer or was the printer added via a share? You can try to install the network printer directly to the computer instead of say adding it from a shared resource. Or, you can try a different driver. Try a PCL5 instead of PCL6. OR, simply turn off the printer and turn back on. Maybe that is a temporary fix.

Provide us the exact printer model and maybe we can find other solutions specific to your device. =]
