It's been 1 n 1/2 months i still hang on ...i have a compaq presario v2000 notebook..for some purpose i need to have a female 25pin parallel port. For this i purchased a SUNNIX make 32bit PCMCIA card bus with 2 parallel interfaces. Problem is whwnever i insert the card into my PC card slot...the whole system comes to a standstill[it's not HANG!!]then i remove the card & the system comes to life...Interestingly the card works sometimes & the ports attached can be seen in device manager, and sometimes it doesnot work----making the whole system paralysed...i have tried everything what ever i could...but no result..

Please HELP..other than going for a new pcmcia card...

Have you tried looking on the Makers Web Site of the PCMCIA Card for newer drivers?

Did this card have a specific Install process listed in the Manual either in printed form or as a PDF File on the Install CD?

Have you made sure that the card comes with XP Drivers? If not are there any XP Drivers available from the maker?

Depending on your NB it just might not work as there could be hardware incompatibilities that are not possible to work around.

When it does work what isn't connected as apposed to when it causes the machine to Hang?

They also make a USB to Parallel Port Adaptor this might be a better option for your needs.
