Do some maintenance on the OS,Clean out you temp folder, if possible reduce the number of files in the root directory, run a scandisk and defrag. Check your hdd space as this might be low.If possible increase your ram. Something to consider is that the no. of user that access this database might have increased and this could be slowing down access times as well.

16 megs of RAM? Did I read that correctly? Add more memory. At least 64, or preferably 128 megs of RAM. You'll see a dramatic speed increase. Actually, you should junk the machine and buy new hardware.

The answer was satisfactory and glad that is what i was trying to do that is to upgrade the RAM but even 64MB ARE OBSOLETE the only option left is to junk the machine.
