PDC & BDC Flip-Flopped during power out.

By flashtube1 ·
I have an Exchange Server on Win2K (BDC) and a Win2K (PDC). During a power outage, the two servers flip flopped roles. Short of shutting down power to the PDC, what is the proper way to flip them back to the normal roles. Thank you.

Open Server Manager, select the (new) BDC, from the menu click Computer, Promote To Primary Domain Controller. As long as the PDC is up & running NT will automatically demote it returning you PDC & BDC status back to what it was originally.

I'm confused about what you are saying. In Win2K, there is no PDC/BDC relationship. All Domain Contollers (DCs)are essentially equals. Are you saying that the FSMO roles were moved from one DC to another?
