PDC loses mapped drive

By the jedi ·
My PDC has lots of drives mapped to it but there is one that every time i re-boot the server it loses the mapping. I am going from an nt pdc to a w2k member server, but i already have drives mapped to other w2k servers. Any suggestions ???

Let me get this straight. The PDC has a C;/ drive say and lots of files in the drive. You have mapped a drive from a member server to a share on the PDC server c but when you reboot the PDC server, users and or other servers lose the mapping to this shared resource/folder.

If it is a folder for example called C;/Afolder/Myshare then simply create a new folder at the same root level of the server.
Copy and paste the original folders contents into it and then map to this new folder.
Therefore, if the folder was called Windows98 then create a new folder at the same level and call it Win98. Copy and paste all the contents of the Windows98 folder into the Win98. This means all the inherint permissions of the top level folder will be reset, possibly clearing any corruption.

First thing's first.

be sure to check off the " Reconnect at log on" box when you map the drive.

If the system is still dropping the mapped drives, it could be that you have a bad network cable which is causing your system to disconnect from your server.

can never overlook the basic steps.

Hope this helps.
