Hi! This is my first time to post..i need help on how to setup properly windows xp fresh install to boot from sata drive that is connected to pci controller card(PDC20378). i just followed what on the sites said..
– create a copy of driver disk into the floppy drive
– boot from cd installer(winxp pro) and press F6 to install third party driver for sata
– select proper driver and it continues to go to the menu
– after pressing enter it did not detect any hard drive installed
my pci card detects there’s no array defined..but i don’t want to setup my harddrive in raid array because it has data in its second partition.
this is my system specs
-mobo: a7v266-c
-cpu: athlon xp +1600
-memory: 512 mb
-hdd: seagate 160gb (set jumper to 1.5gb, partitioned)
-pci sata controller: pdc20378 chip
