Peculiar behavior in Windows Explorer

Environment: 1700 NT 4. SP5 clients in Novell 4.11, Client 4.71.

I have been stymied by odd behavior in Windows Explorer. We have found a directory that is randomly recreated in the roaming profiles. This directory is always DYCRMHYB. The directory may be created by Internet Explorer, which we've only recently migrated to from Netscape.

The odd behavior is that when viewing the directory it often contains temporary internet files (which are directed to C:\temp). When the directory contains these files and I view the entire roaming profile, I get a mirror of that directory in the right panel of Windows Explorer while getting the correct file structure of the profile in the left panel.

I have posted a screen shot of this behavior at:

Separately we also have users whose MSWord crashes, especially when inserting bullets. When we replace the roaming profile, the MSword problem usually disappears.
