Peer to Peer printers get locked by NT2K

By leonardd ·
I have a small network of 10 pc's running WIN98, WINMe, and WINXp. They use a WIN 2000 Server, w/o Active Directory. Several of the PC's share local printers attached to thier pc's. The server shres it's had drives using URL addressing, but does notshare any printers. We have noticed over time about 2 - 3 weeks, that the Peer to Peer printers will get locked up on the network. the only way to free things up is to restart the server. On some occasions the applications being used on the server will also get locked, but not always.

The server gives consistant errors about not finding a time server, because the server / network does not have access to the Internet. This is about the only error message they get.

Answer number three was the solution, sort of. It seems if the server cannot find a valid time service it gets pissed off after a while. the solution is to give it access to the internet or restart the server every two weeks. (wich isn't a bad idea anyway.

Thanks for your assistance.
