I’m experiencing problems using Pegaus USB 56k modem (StMicroelectronics) under WIN 2000.
Especially when I try to send a fax using the built in Fax service management, it works, i.e. I can send it, but using WIN FAX PRO 9 or 10, results impossible to send or receive a fax. Error message is “can’t comminicate with the modem. Please try powering” but modem works and got the corresponding modem signal, but then hung up. I think that the driver is not up to date/correct, but it seems impossible to find the right one. I tried to re-install the modem, yet using another driver but didn?t find the solution. Got another error message, like ?error in telephony DLL?, when not a system crash.
www.smlink.com which should distribute drivers for STmicroelectronics say that USB driver for WIN 2000 should be available in DEC. Any ideas how to solve this problem, or where to download the correct up to date driver?
