pen drive problem

By ash_mash132 ·
I have a 2GB pendrive(Transcend make Jetflash v20 model).
Recently I pulled it out withut stopping it from one faulty laptop.
Till then, it is not functioning on any PC(I tried it over 7 PCs). It is being shown under removable disks as H: but could not be opened or formattted. Whenever I tried to open it the message displayed by the PC is "Enter a disk in the drive:"
Kindly help.
Manoj

That's why the 'Safe Removal' button exists ...

It's main function is to suspend the connection between pen drive & computer, thereby cutting the electric link between them.

Pulling it out while still connected causes an abrupt interruption similar to a power surge, rendering the partition as null.

Your drive is hosed.

It's rather hit & miss, I'm afraid ...

Solid state memory chips behave totally differently to the platters within a hard disk drive - they are NOT as robust when mistreated.

You could always access the Flash drive via Disk Management: right click My Computer > click Manage > select Disk Management.

If it shows up there, you could try formatting it to Fat32. If you haven't destroyed the partition it might work.

Otherwise it's hosed, unfortunately.
