encryption?

by .Martin. In reply to Pendrive Problem

Is the flash drive encrypted? I think I remediable my flash drive not working when I had it encrypted (and it went bad).

the solution is to try formatting it.

If it is Plugged into a Supported OS

And you are getting this message you may need to format the Pen Drive and if that doesn't work you'll need to replace it.

Of course double check on another computer as it's always possible that you have a problem on the original computer with either the USB Ports or something Corrupt in the OS.

Also some Pen Drives require you to install Software onto the computer to allow Data Compression so if the Data was copied with Compression on a different computer and is not readable on this one you need to install the Software to allow you to read the data.

Just another thought here if you have a lot of USB Devices plugged into this computer either remove them and just leave the Pen Drive or use a Powered USB Hub. It is just possible that there isn't sufficient power available from the USB Port to actually run the Pen Drive.

by raochetan4 In reply to Pendrive Problem

use this site to download killdisk software http://www.killdisk.com/
use bootdisk application to format the drive and make it a bootable disk. but remember all the data will get formatted.
the pendrive will start working.
