Performance Analyzation with Netware

By madzumo ·
Other than lananylyzer is there a built in utility with netware 4x or 5x that enables you to analyze and log server performance like performance monitor in NT?

Performance Analyzation with Netware

One of the useful screens that is often overlooked is Monitor.nlm, in conjunction with SET (or servman.nlm)
This can give a lot of useful info, particularly once Netware has been running for a few months, because it is good at self-tuning (much better than NT).
Have a look at the Novell TID 10012765 (Performance, Tuning & Optimization)as it gives a lot of useful tips.
Also search the manuals for the section regarding optimization of performance.
Also don't forget that server performance is not the only thing you should be concerned with, you should also consider the network performance. Like I said, monitor will give a lot of information for those prepared to live with it. Granted it's not as user-friendly as PerfMon for NT, but Netware admins tend to use more braincells than the average user and so can cope.

It just struck me. Why was this posted in the Win95/98 forum?
If you don't get many replies (and you don't like mine), try reposting in the Netware forum.
