    Permission Change Affects Citrix

    Locked

    by qhcomputingny ·

I recently knocked all users down from Administrators to Users. Everyone was able to continue working fine except for two users. They had a problem with connecting to Citrix Clients after they had been demoted to “Users”. The server is running Windows 2000 and the Citrix clients that we are trying to connect to are also running Windows 2000 with Metaframe XP running on top. The weird thing is that the other 18 users (only 2 are having a problem) are working fine and they have the same permissions in the domain. Are there some settings locally that I have to change in order for them to be able to connect to the clients. One person is getting the error message “Seamless Connection Already Exists”, but when I change them to Domain Administrators again, this and all other errors go away. So it has to be a permissions issue, I just don’t know what to set the permissions to in what location? HELP!

It may be an issue with their Citrix profile. Try deleting it (and especially removing any roaming profiles) and see if that resolves the issue. You can also go under your Citrix Server Administrator and see what connections the user has out there. In particular, look for disconnected ones. Make sure to clear those and remove the roaming profile.

Have you verified they are in the appropriate groups in user manager (in case the Citrix Connection is granted permissions in a group…and also toall admins, but not to users).
That *is* how we are configured…

The other place you can take a look at permissions is under Citrix Connection Configuration (under security). You may want to even manually add those users there to see if that affects them.

If none of this helps, let me know and I’ll try to assist further. Please give any other details (particularly error messages).

      Good Luck!

hi .. dunno whether this can help anot
you got to the regedit and then go to the h-key-localmachine > software > under the citrix .. go to the security tab on top and hilight citrix folder .. from the security tab add Everyone and give them read write rights.
