Permissions problems

I am running an NT4 network with w/95 pc’s. We have just put in some xp pc’s & i can’t get the users to set up their own printers, unless i set them up as a domain administrator. Also i have software on their pc’s that will not work unless i set them up as domain admins. I ahve tried to set them up as local admins on their pc’s & this doesn’t work.
Are there issuse with NT4 permissions conflicting with XP machines & if so (or if not) how do i solve these problems.
