Personal Privacy: Xchange & Outlook

by boothby . Updated 24 years, 7 months ago

I have a user (well, ME, actually) who uses Outlook as his mail handler. I can receive mail (through the company’s internet access) from Compuserve (pop.compuserve.com) and through the company’s ISP. We are currently NOT using Exchange Server, butwill be in a short while.

Questions:
1) Is mail obtained through the Compuserve POP3 account private to me (the user), or may it be viewed in some way by the system administrators. If it is now private (Pre-Exchange), will it remain private?2) I have a large number of subdivided “INBOX” subfolders in Outlook. Do those become public when I am tied to exchange server? If so, how may I prevent this? Similarly, are my contacts to become public, etc.?

I already assume that anything I send out while at work is observable by an interested admin.

Thanks in advance for your help.
