Phantom Printer

By L1nUx3r ·
I have a user which I moved to a new location, so I had to install a new driver for the printer nearest to him.
I deleted his old printer leaving just the one.

but in Outlook 98 when he opens an email and clicks the icon for print it still comes out on the old printer. If you go file print it will arrive on the new printer.

We are using jetdirect with all printers and a 2003 server running as print server

His pc is an NT sp6
I could remove his roaming profile and install a fresh one but if this can be avoided as he has some special needs which would mean alot of resetting up.
All I can think is trying to remove any references to the printer from the registry.
Does anyone concur with this or could lead me down the right path.

Thanks

Is he mapped to the printer in a login script?

Is the new printer set as the default?

Yes its the only printer installed so it is the default at least windows has got it ticked as default as for mappings no nothing that I can see
users are put into OUs and different OUs do different mappings true but his is the same as many others that also moved recently which didn't have a problem, I still got a feeling its in the registry but I have scoured it deleteing all references to old printer but still it will go to the old I'm perplexed

Try rebuilding the Outlook account.

Thanks Peeps
Using Novell NAL I opted for verify on outlook
as this makes some major changes I did need to redo IE and a couple of progs
I think I should have gone for the profile option We but learn from out mistakes

Thanks for the help it gave me new avenues to look down which all adds up to experience for the next time something like this happens.

Cheers again
