Phantom Typist ?

I run Windows XP and I seem to always get a phantom helping me to type whenever I open: Internet Explorer Excel or MS Word ,in the middle of an email a spreadsheet or An MS Word Doc I get a bunch of garbage added to my text ???

Hi,

Yep, this is the "auto complete" feature. It completes what you're typing with what you've typed before in an attempt to speed up data entry.

You can turn it off if you like... for instance in Excel, you'll find the option under the tools menu -> options -> edit tab -> Enable Auto complete for cell values checkbox.

Other applications have a similar ability to turn this feature on and off. Personally I find it quite handy...
