Photoshop cs2 (error message)

when i try to launch photoshop the error message is “Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.”
i have not change or installed any programs. it just started to deny access. i have uninstalled and re installed the rest of the suite but will not allow me to do it with photoshop and imageready.
talked to techsupport and paid since my waranty had expired.. but could not help me at all… please help.
os is window xp and lots of space.
