Physcial Memory Dump

By ljackson.desoto ·
I have had a blue screen message that says something like "beginning physcial dump..." Driver IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL TO"....and a bunch of other code. Once it counts up to about 95 it reboots and works fine. Sometimes I get a similiar message on start up (c: and/or drive) and it is checking the disks for consistency. Any idea of what this could be or what I should do? Or not do? Thanks.

irq not less... is usually a bad memory stick error. If you have more than one, take one out, test it... and vice versa. Still same problem, get a new stick and try that one alone.

memtest.org has the better memory test... don't give that out to people as dos based programs are hard for most users to figure out. swap your memory

Before taking the machine apart try a handy and free utility for checking RAM.

Instructions and download on http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp
