I am attempting to trace and fix an issue on a clients computer. They work with photos a lot and when trying to do a capture from the web all pictures are listed as untitled bmp. I cant find what caused it or fix it. System is using winxp pro on dialup thanks

When you say capture do you mean to save a picture from the web page onto your HDD.
If so try right-clicking on the picture and doing a save as.
Some pics may not allow right clicking. In this case I sometimes do a screen shot by hitting the print scr button on my keyboad.I then open up a simple program such as Microsoft Paint, I then paste the printed screen image, crop out the photo that I want and save it to wherever I want.

This is actually a common issue here, just use the disk cleanup tool, START>Programs>Accessories?Syetem Tools>Disk Cleanup
Delete all temporary internet files, cache etc. and it should work fine.
yes i mean saving the pic to the hard drive, but when right-clicking instead of appearing as a jpeg with the pic's name it appears as an untitled bmp image when the save pic screen comes up
