PII 266 Bios Msg.

By Shanghai Sam ·
On boot up the bios reports: Pentium II MMX CPU at 133MHz , Host bus 66Mhz. I would like it to find a PII 266. In the bios, chipset feaures setup, the CPU Host/PCI Frequency is 66/33 changing this can get a msg of 166MHz. The computer is stable and works ok. The M/B is a microstar model 6147. Any ideas much appreciated.

Go to this site http://www.msi.com.tw/support/manual/manual.php?model=MS-6147 (delete any spaces) and download the manual for your motherboard. This will tell you how to properly set your BIOS (or motherboard jumpers) for your PII 266.

With the bus frequency set at 66MHz, you need a multiplier of 4X to get 266MHz.

It is based on wrong jumper settings. The juper setting detailed table mostly printed on your mother board. This detailed based on clock speed, frequency and voltage(see on processor),and set correctly.
